Join me in investing in the future of Memphis music. Music Export Memphis empowers Memphis musicians and mobilizes them as Ambassadors for our city.

Music is very valuable to me. Growing up, my Dad would lecture my brother and I on the great rock icons of the 60’s and 70’s. I knew his favorite band was Little Feat before I knew how to ride a bike. I remember how my Dad would describe his teenage years, sneaking into his favorite concerts or listening from the fence. He told me how songs inspired social change and brought people together. I remember the first time I watched School of Rock, and how will forever be my favorite movie. I remember the first album I ever memorized from beginning to end: The Spirit Room by Michelle Branch. I’d listen to it on my bright blue boombox in my bedroom. I remember my first concert, the first song I listened to when I got my license, the first song I listened to when my Mom passed away. I remember it all and that’s how music impacts my life. I understand the importance of art and music not only to individual experience, but also to community building and that’s why I serve on the board of Music Export Memphis. That’s also why I give to support it’s mission. The value of music in Memphis has always been undeniable - so let’s never lose it.

This year has been catastrophic for the music industry, and there's no denying it. The impacts of COVID-19 on the live music and entertainment industry will be felt for many years to come. Musicians lost a valuable stream of income for no incorrect choice of their own. And communities lost music experiences, a central way to bring people together and feel a little bit of happiness. I'm proud to say that MEM granted over $160,000 in COVID Relief this year for our local artists and industry professionals. But now, we need your support to keep this dream going. In 2020, a gift to Music Export Memphis is an investment in the future of our music community. It is a statement that you believe live music will return (soon!!) and want all of our musicians to greet us on the other side.

I'm raising money for Music Export Memphis and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500.

Music Export Memphis is an export office for Memphis music that creates opportunities for Memphis musicians to showcase outside the city, driving talent attraction and music tourism and giving artists needed national and international platforms to advance their work.

Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Music Export Memphis!
